Speaker 1 00:00:03 I a memory of Chris Yuma and the name of the father and the son, the Holy spirit. Amen. It's a feast of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a patroness of philosophers, mechanics, preachers, uh, young ladies among other things and we'll REITs. But, uh, and I actually know a couple of wheel rights. They're not very common anymore, but, uh, st Catherine Alexandria was, uh, was lived in the Lake or the early, uh, for century and persecution, max Meehan. He came to visit the emperor, came to visit, uh, Alexandria and ordered the persecution of the Christians. So she presented herself before him and argued on favor of the Catholics. And, uh, he was impressed in a certain way by arguments. So he brought in his learned men, the learning pagans to, to have a debate with her and, and, uh, converted over to idol worship. But the consequences of the debate was, is she converted most?
Speaker 1 00:01:07 I don't know if all but most of them, and that was a death sentence. So it must have been some pretty convincing, uh, discussions, but, uh, so they were, uh, they were martyred, she was closed in a, in a, in a, in a, a dungeon for 10, 12 days just to starve her out. When she came out, she was, she wasn't gonna, she was unrepentant the AmTrust converted as well. And I, and, uh, I think one of his generals today ended up being martyred and she's got tied to some weird, you know, the pagans had all these different kinds of horrible things, some kind of weird wheeled device with knives that was supposed to chop her into pieces, but our prayers, it flew apart and actually killed some of the people trying to kill her. So she was beheaded. You can see, uh, in the, in the images of her, you'll see her typically with part of a broken wheel with knives.
Speaker 1 00:01:58 So if you look at the last judgment, for example, Michelangelo's Sistine chapel, you can see Katherine of Saint Catherine of Sienna, cause she's got, it looks like an art piece of things with these knives. Caravaggio made a very, very beautiful painting over and, uh, sure. Body, we w we just heard it in the, in the, uh, in the, uh, act to the mass, her body was taken by the angels to Mount Sinai. So she's there, unfortunately that's occupied by the Orthodox right now, but a relics on Mount Sinai. So that's just a little bit on st. Catherine of Alexandria. She's one of the 14 Holy helpers, and you pray for her for help and for a Holy death and also for problems, disease, and other things problems with your tongue. So little on Saint Catherine of Alexandria,
