Speaker 0 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Maria Priscilla and the name of the father and the son and the Holy spirit. Amen. In the gospel today, our Lord says to st. Thomas, because those seen me, Thomas does believe the blessed though, are those who have not seen and yet believed Speaker 0 00:00:21 Faith is a reward for something that is not completely clear. It's clear enough though. We see, we have to believe something, but it's not so clear that it's absolutely something that we can't kind of brush aside. If we've a mind to, that's why it's meritorious. You know, once you know what two plus two is, then you know, it's four, you can't not come to four, unless you're going to lose your mind. But with faith, there's jus there's enough evidence place before us. So we say, I have to believe that, but not enough. You can't say, ah, and do that. That's why it's meritorious. And that our Lord is talking about that. Blessed, are they not seen? And yet believe it's a very great grace to believe like that st. Louis was praying King st. Louis was praying in his chapel one day and someone came in and said, sire, they're over here. Speaker 0 00:01:15 There's a Eucharistic miracle. I don't know the circumstances. And he said, well, I'm not going to go. And they were kind of astonished. He said, I want the merit. I believe I want to keep that merit. And so I don't want to lose anything by going no, that's an example. There's certainly nothing wrong with going to look at something like a Eucharistic miracle or something incorrupt or something. Cause it does help are fake. But in that case, st. Louis is making a very important point that we do believe. And it's meritorious to believe, even though not everything is absolutely set in front of us. There's enough motives there that we can see. It has to be believed, but not enough to force us. This is why people can turn away from the faith. Even though when it's been preached to them and they can be guilty of turning away, there's enough evidence. Speaker 0 00:02:04 They say, no, I should believe, but I really want to go do this. Really want to do that, but I don't want to give this up. It's important to preserve your faith because it can be lost. That seems like a no brainer in our day and age, when it seems like people can't wait to get rid of it. It seems like a lot of people are only baptized and maybe confirm to make sure they can get rid of it as soon as possible when they leave home. I'm not even being sarcastic. That's what it seems like. They can't stand the burden that the faith puts on him. We should be so thankful for those blessed are they that haven't seen yet believe we should be thankful having this grace so thankful because without the fee, it's impossible to be pleasing to God. So ask for those who don't have the faith to get it for your faith to increase prejudice st. Thomas today, the two is intercession. You'll have an increase in your faith.
