Speaker 0 00:05 Last weekend, National Geographic released a ridiculous story about the so called Gospel Tutus, a book produced by set called the Canaanites. They named themselves after Cain as in the guy who killed Abel cause this sect that uh, taught their followers that a man had to commit all kinds of sins in order to be saved. That's just a coincidence that a story like this breaks like before holy week, just accident on the day every year, right before Christmas and Easter, the slick use magazines always seem to have cover stories which feature some attack on Christ our Lord. Why is that? Why does that happen every year? Speaker 0 00:58 And how about the reaction to media can out Gibson's movie The Passion of Christ? I'll give some quotes, right? Here's from a man, he certainly needs that prayers. Abraham Foxman have anti-defamation that he called the film from our perspective, unambiguously from beginning to end, blames the death of Jesus on a blood bench, foot shoes and lips off a peaceful, loving, kind, warm, sensitive <inaudible> pilot. And the Romans close quote because Abraham Foxman really believes this because any sane human being who started seeing, for example the scourging and that movie, I think the Romans were portrayed as quote, peaceful, loving, kind Warren sensitive close quote or this a fox quote, the showing you the passion throughout the agents is a precursor for programs and persecution and it's come within several months. Projected passionate Smitty middle ages meal you to more people than would have seen or witnessed the passion play for almost 2000 years. Speaker 0 02:07 It will feel hatred, bigotry and antisemitism. Close quotes. Are we supposed to believe that once we saw the movie, some kind of blood bath, some kind of terrible persecution that Jews would, he wrecked that. What we're supposed to believe was they ran Foxman really seriously worried about a persecution. What was bothering him? I'm used size. The fact he's a fallen white Catholic. What was bothering about seeing the passion cause any of that makes sense. So he's not a stupid man. This is a very, very intelligent human being. He wouldn't be in position. He's in, he wasn't intelligent. So what's really going on? Why is it that before great feast, like Christmas or Easter or whenever a significant work of art promoting Christ, our Lord is released? What is it, the producers, all these weird and offense and attacks on our Lord? What is it? What's going on? And they, we can get a better idea, but considering an article on the same topic, I took this from Eric Shava, Israel National News March 1st, 2004 quote, the Orthodox Jewish Union's prepared her response to the controversial Annison medic and violence saturated fill in the passion rally, Doctor CV Hersh Weinreb stated quote. What I'm concerned about is that Jews who see this film will identify deeply with cheeses, the movies here, a good guy, and with this identify withdrawn God given identity as situation people close quote, that's honest. Speaker 0 03:48 He's worried about the passion because it may cause convergence, Saunas, these kinds of attacks, well different enemies of Christ in his church and nothing new. They're variations on a theme. It's been the same old story from the beginning. The Gospel for the Friday. The Fourth Week of lamp tells a story of how after Lazards sip died and laid in the tomb for four days, I Lord raised him from the dead and in response to this miracle, the Gospel tells us, quote many therefore the Jews who'd seen the things that Jesus did believed in him close quote. Well, that's not surprising that they're believing in him. He's just been doing this miracles and these extraordinary miracles raising Lazarus from the dead, and people have come to believe in him, but what was the response of the leaders to this miracle? It's incredible miracle of raising man from the dead. Speaker 0 04:42 Don't eat, done only a few miles outside of Jerusalem, the chief priest there for the Ferris, he's gathered at comps and said, what do we do? This man death. Many miracles, close quote and Outward of God. Now know that he had knowledge, that he did miracles. This man death, many miracles. They know he did miracles. That was no surprise to them. The leaders had realized his firm and he was a miracle worker from the very beginning. They'd known. He was sent from God some three years before, right at the beginning of his public ministry, one of the leaders that use the fairs, he named Nicotine Umas came to her lord at night and told him, rabbi, we know that had come a teacher from God for no man could do the signs with style test and let God be with him. We know that our teacher come from God, so the leaders knew that Christ had been sent from God, but they weren't looking for messiah like this in their pride. Speaker 0 05:47 They expected a rule and rule absolutely over all the nations. That wasn't his message and he was eating with sinners cocky with smack when they're even going so far as to kill the swine Canaanite Wallman and that pig enrollments, soldiers, son, all this didn't start contrast that sort of tyrannical regime, the cast society they had imposed on people and to make matters worse, he didn't hesitate to perform miracles on the sabbath and direct contradiction of their pressive rulings and teachings. They weren't looking for messiah like this. They were looking for something to advance their political agenda. And so this behavior absolutely enraged them. They couldn't deny his miracles, but that's they could come up with and their hatred and rage was to try to blame the powers that he had on the devil. They who went so far as to accuse him of being possessed. Speaker 0 06:47 He cast out devils by Beelzebub the Prince of devils. They're not just the welded dollar Samaritan. It has to devil. Now we know the has to Dale, but in the face of his personality and his teachings and miracles, these attacks, these blasts and knees hadn't worked. The people still kept falling and now just outside Jerusalem, he'd raised Lazarus from the dead. So they call the council and asked, what should we do for the man works? Many miracles quote, if we let him alone, so all will believe in him and enrollments will come and take where place and nation. One of the named Caiaphas being the high priest that year prophesied that Jesus should die for the sins of the nation and not only for the nation, but together together and one the children of God that were dispersed from that day. Therefore they devised to put him to death and the chief priest got to kill Lazarus also because many of the Jews by reason of him believed in Jesus, close quote, inspired word of God, so they're losing their following. Speaker 0 07:54 They've tried his true I Lawrence reputation and that didn't work, so now they settled on his final solution to kill our Lord, destroy him and then kill Lazarus, destroy the evidence that stop and think of how crazy they become at this time. Obviously, if our Lord raised Lazarus from the dead once, nothing's going to prevent him from doing it again. They're dealing with someone here who has power and dominion over death itself, even though they have a pretty clear idea who he is, even though they have a political clear idea of what he can do, their minds have been darkened by hatred and rage. They still want to kill him. We don't want to God like you. We don't want to king like you. We have no king but Caesar, and then suddenly unexpectedly, he found that at hands and they pour it out the hatred and fury upon him and then managed to successfully manipulate the Romans and the crucifying. Speaker 0 08:55 And even after he died on the cross, the Romans with that military efficiency made absolutely sure that he was dead like Kiersten. His heart was the thrust of the lands. That's who we're seeing about the video. So our Lord is dead. There's no possible doubt about that. The Jewish leaders, it see his dead body lady to the Tomb of Joseph of Aramis Thea. But think about this, although the lower leaders had clearly seen our lord dead and buried in the tomb, they were still so worried about it. They actually took the extraordinary precaution of Sealy Tome and then hosting an armed guard around it that Jewish leaders posted a military guard at a grave site just to make sure that the dead man and side to escape. But on that Easter Sunday morning, the tomb was empty and the Jewish leaders knew what had happened. In fact, the empty tomb left and scrambling for an explanation denied obvious and the very best he's a very intelligent man could come up with, was to arrive the guards to testify that while they were sleeping, the disciples came and stole the body. Now there is a brilliant explanation and stand. Augusta asked, how's this? You can't witnesses that were asleep. The very best that leaders could come up with was tasking when to believe it's sleeping. Man witnessed the crime. Okay, but think about this. Why didn't they ordered an investigation? Why didn't they weren't investigation or to find out which would disciples are guilty of this grave robbery? Why didn't they order an investigation to find the body would have been easy? Speaker 1 10:44 Why? Because they knew what had happened. Speaker 0 10:49 They knew what had happened and the very best response they could years. It was this pathetic lie which falls a car even if it's slightest scrutiny. And then they say, break north empty tomb, but they knew what had happened. Everyone around there knew what had happened. The great tuition story. Flavius Josephus, who was himself a fair seat from a distinguished family of Jewish priests. He's born at 37 80 low and about 93 cook. Jesus was the doer of incredible things and the teacher of such as Clavel accepted the truth. He that's attracted to himself, made Jews, and many of the gentiles. He was the Christ on the accusation of reading. Then if our people poly condemned him to death on the cross. Nevertheless, those who had previously loved him still remained faithful to him. For on the third day, he appeared to them alive again, just as a divine providence that foretold and at the present day, the tribe of those who call themselves Christians after him has not ceased college called Flavius Josephus. Speaker 0 11:56 He doesn't have the faith, but he's an honest historian. He's just recording what happened. Of course, everyone around there knew on Easter, our Lord wasn't the only one that rose from the dead CIC. Nappy points out, quote anybody's. The saints that had slept, arose and coming out of the tunes after his resurrection came into the Holy City and appeared to many close quote than their word of God. Quadratus is one of the earliest fathers in the church and app is Todd, Florida. And the work that was presented to the emperor Hadrian in the early second century wrote about these men, well, those who are cared by our savior and all this would be raised from the dead. We're seeing not only wellbeing, cure, cured while being raised, he would ever present not only while our savior 12th amongst us, but also for considerable time after he had departed. Speaker 0 12:46 In fact, some of them have survived her own time. Close, cool living, visible proof. Then we were walking around that first met Christ here, Lord, while they were dead and limbo, I need to send it to the dead. And then he had been resurrected with him on that Easter Sunday came up live and their walk you out in the Middle East. Well, after the sanction, these men are walking around in the Middle East, well after Lord, ascension into heaven. So the Jewish leaders knew what had happened. Everyone around there was aware of what had happened. So why would they want ignore the empty tomb? Even though they knew what had happened? Speaker 0 13:30 For the same reason they ignored the southern, they're close for the same reason they ignored his teachings for the same reason they wanted to play his powers on a devil for the same reason they want to kill him. And why is that? Because the implications were too personally painful, too costly for them to consider. Maybe we've all grown used to the idea, but just think about this incredible event. A dead man by his own power and his own will raised himself up from the dead, lifted himself back in the life, Nicole Laureus and in mortal body, a dead man lifting himself out of the grave into the new with more to life by performance, miracle upon himself with his own car. Jesus proves his claim to be the Messiah and the true son of God, the resurrection. That's the key to this. The resurrection proves Christ's claims. And since he's God and God can never deceive everything, every single thing I Lord taught must be absolutely true and that's the real significance of Easter. See, we're all weak and sinful man. It's that the reality that everything our Lord says is absolutely true, can be painful because the gospel makes demands and the real commands are Lord doesn't say, all right, let's make a deal. You can do whatever you want as long as you're basically a good person. Speaker 0 15:10 It doesn't say that, mate, let's make a deal alert says, this is the deal. If you love me, keep my commandments. Be Holy. Deny yourself. You've got your cross and come and follow me. It's black and white. It's black and white. Our Lord divided the world into two and only two camps. There's only two camps. The levers and the cross and the enemies of the Cross, the Christ, you just it the world and it too. He came to bring the sword and that's what the store does. Divides it the world until the levers of the cross of Christ and then it's in the cross of Christ. It's black and white on judgment day, we'll each have our own Easter. Well, I'll rise from the dead. Each of us needs to ask himself, which camp am I living in? Am I keeping the commandments by showing our Lord the very great gratitude I have for giving me the Catholic faith, the true faith, the faith without, which is impossible to please him. The tendon, one 17 Christ has risen from the dead and some day, so Speaker 2 16:42 <inaudible>.
